Mrs. Butlerasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will examine the present arrangements for parent participation in decisions affecting their children's education through parent-teacher associations, representations on education committees, and in other ways, with a view to improving present facilities in this respect.
§ Mr. PrenticeMy right hon. Friend welcomes any measures to improve participation by parents, either singly or collectively, in decisions affecting their children's education. In general, however, he thinks that it is best in this matter to leave changes to local initiative.
