§ Sir J. Langford-Holtasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will direct that correspondence between Members of Parliament and local authorities shall be entitled to be sent in Official Paid envelopes and not paid for out of the Member's salary.
§ Mr. MacDermotNo. An extension of the present use of Official Paid envelopes to cover Members' correspondence with local authorities could have wide implications. I will, however, consider the question further when the general question of Members' expenses has been considered in the light of the report of the Committee on the Remuneration of Ministers and Members of Parliament.
