§ Sir M. Galpernasked the Minister of Power whether he is aware that it is the practice, in some cases, of the gas and electricity boards to refuse to re-connect the supply of gas or electricity until outstanding hire-purchase payments on equipment supplied by them have been paid; and if he will give them a general direction, in the public interest, not to do this.
§ Mr. PeytonI understand that it is not the policy of any gas or electricity board to refuse reconnection of supplies until hire purchase debts have been paid, and that where this may have happened it has been due to a misunderstanding which the Board concerned is taking steps to prevent.
