The functions of North Eastern Trading Estates Ltd., West Cumberland Industrial Development Co., Ltd. and North Western Industrial Estates Ltd. were taken over by the Industrial Estates Management Corporation for England and those of Scottish Industrial Estates Ltd. by the Industrial Estates Management Corporation for Scotland on 1st April, 1960.
