§ 1. Mr. P. Noel-Bakerasked the Minister of Transport what estimate has been made by the Road Research Laboratory of the saving of deaths and injuries on the roads per annum which can be attributed to the construction of the M.1 motorway.
§ Vice-Admiral Hughes HallettThe Road Research Laboratory estimated that, in the twelve months after the opening of the motorway, there were on it and on adjacent main roads 29 fewer deaths and 957 fewer people injured than would have been expected if the motorway had not been open.
