§ Dr. D. Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many maintained and voluntary aided primary and secondary schools that are now in use were built before the year 1880; when he expects to replace these schools completely by modern premises; and whether he will give this matter the fullest priority in his building programme.
§ Mr. HoggInformation in this form is not available, but some light will be thrown on the age of school buildings as at June, 1962, by the report on school premises I propose to publish. The improvement of unsatisfactory school buildings and modern additions to old buildings are regular features of the school building programme and the process will continue.
