HC Deb 04 May 1964 vol 694 c124W
68. Mr. Whitlock

asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance if he will publish figures available to him on the incidence of respiratory diseases amongst citizens other than miners in areas where colliery tips are burning; and how those figures compare with figures concerning other mining and non-mining areas.

Lieut.-Commander Maydon

The report on the Department's inquiry into the incidence of incapacity for work, which we expect to publish in the autumn, will identify separately people living in urban areas of different size and rural areas sub-divided, where appropriate, by degree of industrial activity. Places where colliery tips are burning cannot be separately identified for the purpose of these analyses.
