HC Deb 04 May 1964 vol 694 c125W
69. Mr. Warbey

asked the Minister of Power what credit for plutonium is assumed in his estimate of the running costs of the Wylfa nuclear power station; how this compares with earlier estimates of the plutonium credit; and what guarantees exist that the credit will be maintained at the level currently used in estimating.

Mr. Erroll

The Central Electricity Generating Board is at present assuming no credit for the irradiated fuel containing the plutonium. Previous estimates for earlier stations have assumed substantially less than 0.1d. a unit, as the hon. Member was told on 26th February, 1962. Some credit may be appropriate in due course as fast reactors are developed and the value of plutonium rises.
