§ 69. Mr. Warbeyasked the Minister of Power what credit for plutonium is assumed in his estimate of the running costs of the Wylfa nuclear power station; how this compares with earlier estimates of the plutonium credit; and what guarantees exist that the credit will be maintained at the level currently used in estimating.
§ Mr. ErrollThe Central Electricity Generating Board is at present assuming no credit for the irradiated fuel containing the plutonium. Previous estimates for earlier stations have assumed substantially less than 0.1d. a unit, as the hon. Member was told on 26th February, 1962. Some credit may be appropriate in due course as fast reactors are developed and the value of plutonium rises.
