HC Deb 04 May 1964 vol 694 c120W
56. Mr. Hastings

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether the National Agriculture Advisory Service gives advice to farmers on costing as well as production methods.

Mr. Scott-Hopkins

Yes. The National Agricultural Advisory Service offers a complete farm business analysis service under which the farmer can ascertain the costs of the various sections of the farm business. In addition the N.A.A.S. is developing a number of individual enterprise efficiency schemes, either nationally or locally, which include, in varying degrees of detail, analysis of costs. There are at present schemes for poultry, milk, pigs, beef and sheep.
