§ Dr. Alan Thompsonasked the Lord President of the Council and Minister for Science whether he will investigate the contribution, in terms of scientific manpower, apparatus, machinery and experimental facilities, which the United Kingdom could make to the proposed World Health Organisation Research Centre; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. HoggIt would be premature to consider this before it is known whether the member countries of the World Health Organisation are likely to agree to establish a World Health Research Centre, and what form the centre is likely to take. As stated by my right hon. Friend the Lord Privy Seal in the House on 19th March, the World Health Assembly has asked the Director General to continue studies on the subject.
