§ Mr. MaudlingFigures in the precise form mentioned cannot be provided because, for the purposes of this study, the figures of income include various items which are not part of taxable income, such as farm produce consumed by the farmer's own household, and the imputed rent of owner-occupied dwellings; in addition, employers' and employees' contributions to National Insurance are amalgamated and both are regarded as direct taxes on income. I will, however,162W bear in mind the possibility of providing figures in the form suggested when similar estimates are prepared in future.
