asked Her Majesty's Government:

The number of medical students in the medical schools in Scotland, and the percentage of medical students who are women, also to give the figures for each medical school separately.

THE PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY TO THE MINISTER FOR SCIENCE (THE EARL OF BESSBOROUGH)

There are 2,960 full-time medical students in Scotland, of whom 25.6 per cent. are women. The figures for each university are as follows:—

Aberdeen 490 26.9
Edinburgh 1,017 20.9
Glasgow 1,038 28.6
St. Andrews 415 28.0
