§ 47. Dame Irene Wardasked the Secretary of state for Industry, Trade and Regional Development how many advance factories have been built in the North-East region: how many have been let; and if, when a factory has been let, an immediate replacement will be commenced.
§ Mr. HeathSince January, 1961, eleven advance factories have been built in the North-East. Six of these have been let or sold and five are now available. I am considering what further advance factories may be required in the North-East. I prefer to consider a programme as a whole rather than authorise individual factories on a replacement basis.
