HC Deb 19 March 1964 vol 691 c220W
Mr. Merlyn Rees

asked the Postmaster-General if, in view of the successful experiments carried out two years ago, he will now allow the British Broadcasting Corporation to operate a local broadcasting station in the city of Leeds as a prototype for eventual development throughout the country.

Mr. Bevins

I am, however, studying, with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Education the special question of the possible use of local sound broadcasting for educational purposes.
