57. Mr. Allason

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that safety razor blades are being distributed to households as free samples and that in some cases the blade is not handed to a responsible adult; and whether he will take steps to prohibit the latter practice in the interests of home safety

Mr. Woodhouse

I have made inquiries about the present distribution of free samples of razor blades, and I understand that the distributors have from the outset been instructed to leave a sample only if it can be handed to an adult. I am satisfied that the distribution has been carried out with care to avoid any danger to children or domestic pets.
