§ Mr. D. Footasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will place in the Library of the House a list of books which Customs officers are now directed to seize on the ground that they are indecent; by whom the list is drawn up; and how often it is revised.
Mr. M. MacmillanThe list is merely a working guide for Customs officers. It is in no sense comprehensive and its reproduction out of context would serve no useful purpose. It is drawn up under the authority of the Commissioners of Customs and Excise and is revised as often as may be warranted by new decisions of the courts or otherwise.
