§ Mr. Clark Hutchisonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what progress has been made in the preservation, collecting and recording of historical and Government documents relating to the earlier history of Aden.
§ Mr. SandysThe Aden Legislature has voted funds to enable these archives to be properly housed, but the actual work has not yet begun. The local authorities do not consider it wise to proceed with the process of recording and treatment until the new storage space becomes available, as many of the older papers are in a delicate condition. In the meantime the papers are being kept where necessary in protective boxes.
