§ Q5. Mr. Awberyasked the Prime Minister, in view of the consequences of British action in entering East African territories, if he will give an assurance that any similar British action in the future will be taken only after the views and co-operation of the United Nations Organisation have been sought.
§ The Prime MinisterNo. It would have been for the East African Governments concerned to refer their recent difficulties to the United Nations if they had so wished. They chose instead to ask for help from Her Majesty's Government, and we gladly gave it.
