asked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty if he will name the ships stated in Annex B of Command Paper No. 2270, as being due for scrapping.

Mr. Hay

The names of the ships approved during 1963–64 for scrapping are:

  • Cruiser—H.M.S. "Mauritius".
  • Destroyer—H.M.S. "Chaplet".
  • Frigates—H.M. Ships "Brissenden", "Termagent", "Terpsichore", "Tyrian", "Vigilant", "Virago", "Loch Alvie", "Loch Ruthven" and "Loch Veyatie".
  • 214
  • Ocean Minesweepers—H.M. Ships "Acute", "Chameleon", "Jewel", "Onyx" and "Rifleman".
  • Inshore Minesweeper—H.M.S. "Bassingham".
  • Submarines—H.M. Submarines "Sea Devil", "Sea Scout", "Seraph", "Tapir" and "Teredo".
  • Submarine Tender—H.M.S. "Mindful".
