49. Mr. Chapman

asked the Minister of Transport what grant he is now prepared to offer to the Birmingham Corporation towards the cost of a pedestrian subway under the new Shenley Lane, Northfield.

Mr. Marples

Birmingham County Borough Council, the highway authority for this road, has not yet made an application for grant towards the cost of a subway. I will consider any application it makes.
