Footasked the Prime Minister whether Her Majesty's Government have studied the resolution passed at Lagos at the African Foreign Ministers' Conference, and which has been sent to him in his official capacity, asking Britain not to grant independence to Southern Rhodesia under the present regime; and what reply has been sent.
§ The Prime MinisterI have not received any resolution from this conference. The information I have is that certain resolutions—which did not include any in the terms described by the hon. and learned Member—were approved at the Lagos Conference for submission to a meeting of heads of state of the countries represented.
