§ 37. Mr. Sorensenasked the Postmaster-General what progress has been made in extended provision of colour television.
§ Mr. BevinsI would refer the hon. Member to the Answer I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Brentford and Chiswick (Mr. Dudley Smith) and the hon. Member for Barnsley (Mr. Mason) on 14th April. As I said then, the final choice of a colour television transmission system will be made next 185W spring. Until that is settled, preparations for the introduction of a colour television service obviously cannot proceed very far.
