asked the Minister of Public Building and Works whether he will make a further statement on progress in improving the ventilation system in the House of Commons.

The ventilation system disturbed by the works in the roof space was restored at the end of April. A

weights in use in October, 1951, were those adopted in June, 1947.

contract has been let for installing fresh air input fans in the basement to take air into the rooms in the House of Commons which have double windows. This work will be carried out during the coming Summer Recess.
