§ Mr. MarplesThe markings have been laid on 95 miles of motorway and 1¼ miles of all-purpose trunk roads. They have also been provided on about 12 miles of classified roads; the cost has been met out of the Department's experimental funds.

§ Mr. MarplesThe trials have justified the wider use of reflectorised materials for edge of carriageway markings. The new Traffic Signs Regulations will prescribe these markings and will permit them to be reflectorised. The Traffic Signs Manual will give guidance as to their wider use.
