§ Mr. GreenNo. It would be inappropriate to require candidates for the Civil Service to possess a knowledge of Giro principles and practice. Special training is provided in cheque and credit transfer systems and other systems of payment, including Giro, for commercial officers in the Board of Trade and the Foreign Office.
