§ Mr. Pounderasked the Secretary of State for Defence how many applications were received by the Royal Navy Careers Office in Northern Ireland in 1962 and 1963, respectively; and how many of the applicants joined the Royal Navy.
§ Mr. HayIn 1962, the Royal Navy and Royal Marine Careers Office in Belfast received 741 applications to join. As a result, 158 Royal Naval rating and Royal Marine other rank recruits were obtained through this Office. In 1963, the corresponding figures were 818 and 170, respectively.
