HC Deb 16 June 1964 vol 696 cc157-8W
39. Mr. J. Morris

asked the Postmaster-General what has been the outcome of his consultations with the British Broadcasting Corporation on television reception in the Port Talbot area.

Mr. Bevins

The B.B.C. tells me that, while two-thirds of the population of Port Talbot can get the new Welsh service satisfactorily provided they use suitable aerials, reception in the old town is spoilt by screening. The B.B.C. is making a special study of the problem of reception in South Wales. In doing so, I am sure it will have regard to the hon. Member's representations.
