§ 41. Sir C. Osborneasked the Postmaster-General if he is aware that concern is again being expressed about poor reception both of sound broadcasting and television in north Lincolnshire; in view of the fact that the new station will not be ready until the end of 1965, if he will take all possible steps to improve reception immediately; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. BevinsI agree with my hon. Friend that during the summer months television reception in part of Lincolnshire is liable to interference from certain continental stations. As I said on 18th March, when the new combined B.B.C. and I.T.A. stations are completed, they will be capable of giving the area all broadcast services, both sound and television. I am sorry it is not feasible to provide improved services meanwhile.
