§ Mr. Merlyn Reesasked the Minister of Aviation if he is aware that the French Government have refused approval for BKS Air Transport Limited to operate a service from the Leeds and Bradford Airport to Paris, despite the fact that a licence had been granted by the Air Transport Licensing Board; and, in view of the assessment of the demand for such a direct service in the West Riding made by the Leeds and Bradford Airport Joint Committee, if he will open discussions with the French Government with a view to securing a reversal of their decision.

§ Mr. AmeryThe French authorities were urged to agree to this new BKS service at talks in April, but refused on the grounds that it would divert traffic from the existing Manchester-Paris services. We shall continue to seek a reversal of this decision.
