HC Deb 16 June 1964 vol 696 cc168-9W
51. Mr. Gourlay

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what percentage of the annual loan charges on the average four apartment house will be met by the average subsidy paid under the Housing (Scotland) Act, 1962, in the current year; and what percentage of the annual loan charges of the average four apartment house was met by the average subsidy paid in the financial year 1950–51.

Mr. Noble

Rates of subsidy are now determined by the state of a local authority's housing revenue account as a whole. The comparisons suggested are therefore irrelevant.

Mr. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish in table form the following information for each year from 1952 to 1963, inclusive, namely, the number of unfit houses demolished or closed, the number of temporary houses demolished or closed, the number of local authority houses completed, the net increase in the stock of houses achieved by deducting the sum of the first and second from the third, and aggregate totals for each category for the whole period.
