HC Deb 15 June 1964 vol 696 c124W
43. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what further developments have taken place in respect of relationships between Her Majesty's Government and the Yemen and the cessation of frontier conflicts.

Mr. P. Thomas

There have been no changes in our relationship with the Yemen.

We have reiterated to the Secretary. General of the United Nations the proposals we made in the Security Council in April to reduce frontier difficulties. The proposals were for demarcation of the border, placing of United Nations observers along it and demilitarisation of border sectors. In understand that the Secretary-General has not yet had any positive response to these proposals from the Yemeni Republican authorities.
