§ Mr. WhitelawThe guidance given by the Central Youth Employment Executive to Youth Employment Officers recommends at least one individual interview for each school leaver. Interviews should normally last 15–20 minutes, but where necessary they may be longer and more than one interview may be given. The frequency of school talks depends to some extent on the wishes of schools in the area, but Youth Employment Officers aim to give at least one talk to all pupils some months before they leave.
