§ Mr. du CannImports of steel from Canada into the United Kingdom are admitted duty free provided that they qualify for Commonwealth preference. The Canadian tariff on steel varies from product to product. Their preferential rates, which apply to imports from the United Kingdom, are nil on items which in 1961 accounted for rather more than one-third of our exports of steel and range up to 17½ per cent. on other items.
