§ 66. Mr. Jegerasked the Minister of Transport, in view of the continuing lengthy delays and traffic congestion caused by the one-way swing bridge at Thorne, near Doncaster, whether he will take immediate action for the provision of a temporary double bridge and traffic signals to improve the flow of vehicles.
§ Mr. GalbraithWe hope to have the by-pass of Thorne in use within the next four or five years. A temporary new bridge in the meantime would be costly and would not be justified. But to ease the congestion we are considering installing power-operated gates and traffic signals at the present bridge.
