§ Mr. PeytonThe first supplies of Saharan methane are expected to arrive in this country within a few weeks. Large additional supplies of non-toxic gas are also becoming available from oil reforming plants, the capital cost of which is about one-sixth of that needed for traditional processes. The production of gas at high pressure in these plants is associated with major developments in the Board's distribution systems which will enable gas to be moved in bulk across considerable distances. There should be enough gas for all users and a reasonable prospect of stability in gas prices generally.
