§ 84. Sir J. Vaughan-Morganasked the Minister of Transport what is the present position with regard to the plans for the building of the south orbital road, and in particular the position within the county of Surrey.
§ Mr. MarplesThe first section of this road, a length of just over a mile westwards from the Dartford-Purfleet Tunnel, is already in my trunk roads programme. I hope that work on this section will start in the autumn of next year.
I will shortly be announcing a list of further trunk road schemes to be prepared for inclusion in my programme. Among the schemes I am considering are further sections of this road, including a section in Surrey.
