§ Mr. BevinsThe Superannuation Acts provide the same pension and retiral gratuity arrangements for postmen as for other Civil Servants. The scheme is noncontributory and its benefits compare favourably with those of most other occupations.
Reckonable service Pension* Lump Sum* 40 years … £5 17s. 0d. a week … £916 *Based on National rate of pay, and retirement at current date. Postmen also come within the scope of National Insurance pension provisions on the same basis as other Civil Servants.
