§ Miss Harvie Andersonasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food why he has decided to continue the suspension of the close season under the Grey Seals Protection Act so that young 341W seals could be killed on the Farne Islands Sanctuary.
§ Mr. SoamesMy decision to authorise a limited cull of grey seals on the Farne Islands again this year was taken following a recommendation made by the Consultative Committee on Grey Seals and Fisheries in view of the continuing damage being done by the seals to the fisheries. The decision has the approval of the Nature Conservancy.
