Hyndasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether he is aware of the heavy storm damage which 247W occurred in Accrington and district on 18th and 19th July; and whether the Government will make a contribution to the expenses of the local authority.
§ Mr. CorfieldMy right hon. Friend has had no request for financial help from the local authorities concerned, and he has no reason to believe that their expenses, which will qualify for rate deficiency grant in the normal way, will be such as to justify additional Government help.
