§ 76. Mr. Brewisasked the Secretary of State for Scotland why the closing date for applications for ploughing grant has been advanced from 31st July to 30th June.
§ Mr. NobleThis change, which will apply to the ploughing grant year which began on 1st June, 1964, was one of a number of amendments made in the Scheme to simplify it. The new Scheme no longer requires notification of ploughing within 21 days, but to enable the necessary field checks to be made within a reasonable period after ploughing, the closing date for receipt of claims has been advanced to 30th June, i.e., one month earlier.
