§ Mr. Jegerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT the names and sentences of persons convicted of supplying secret information to foreign Powers, since the date of the Hitler-Stalin pact.
§ Mr. BrookeI assume that the hon. Member has primarily in mind offences under Section 1(1) (c) of the Official 174W Secrets Act, 1911, of communicating to another person information which is calculated to be, or might be, or is intended to be, directly or indirectly useful to an enemy, or of conspiracy to commit such an offence.
Complete information for the period before 1945 is not readily available. Since 1st January, 1945, the following 13 persons have been convicted of such offences by the civil courts:
