§ Sir E. BoyleIn addition to research at the National Physical Laboratory, the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research is supporting seven projects of a basic character in universities and colleges at a total cost of over £100,000 and has made new grant arrangements with the Association of Special Libraries and Information Bureaux which include a grant of up to £20,000 a year for a research programme concentrated on approved projects in this field.
