§ 78. Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Industry, Trade and Regional Development whether he is aware that the liquidators of the North British Locomotive Company have accepted for discussion at its forthcoming general meeting a resolution calling for an independent public inquiry into the circumstances under which £1,750,000 of Government money was loaned to the Company in 1959 and into other matters including the responsibilities and position of the Government director appointed as chairman of the company; and whether he will therefore instruct the Government's representative on the committee of inspection to press for a stay of the winding-up of the company pending a decision as to whether an inquiry is to be held.
