81. Mrs. Butlerasked the Minister of Transport if he will undertake a full review of safety precautions relating to road works on the North Circular Road and on all road schemes for which he is responsible.
§ Mr. MarplesI would refer the hon. Member to the replies given by my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Labour to Questions on 29th and 30th June about the Brent Cross accident. I have drawn the advice referred to in the second reply to the 219W attention of highway authorities generally and the local authorities and consulting engineers who act as my agents for work on trunk roads. More generally, I think we must await the outcome of the inquiry which my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour has directed. But, in the meantime, I am considering whether there are any further immediate steps that should be taken.
