Mr. Rankinasked the Secretary of State for Industry, Trade and Regional Development whether he will act on the proposal made to him by the Cinematograph Exhibitors Association and establish a tribunal of trade representatives with an independent chairman to deal, where necessary, with monopoly practices in the cinema industry.
§ Mr. HeathNo. This proposal goes beyond those which the Cinematograph Films Council has put to me on the basis of its broad acceptance of the recommendations of its sub-committee on the structure and trading practices of the film industry.
