Mr. Maxwell-Hyslopasked the Secretary for Technical Co-operation what has been the result of the discussions he has had with the Ghanaian Government with the object of relieving the hardship caused to retired persons resident in the United Kingdom who were employed in the Gold Coast civil service, and who cannot benefit from 89W the double taxation agreement because their United Kingdom liability is too small to affect the new imposition of 7s. in the £1 deduction at source under the Ghana Income Tax (Withholding Tax) Rules (1963).
