§ 29. Mr. Leaveyasked the Secretary of State for Industry, Trade and Regional Development what progress has been made in the negotiations with India and other countries with a view to devising a scheme for the categorisation of cotton imports.
§ Mr. HeathI am glad to say that considerable progress has been made. A substantial measure of agreement has been reached with India, Hong Kong and Portugal; and discussions are proceeding with other countries. Full details are made known to the industry as settlements are reached, and I will gladly publish a statement in the OFFICIAL REPORT when all the negotiations have been concluded.
