§ 59. Mr. G. R. Howardasked the Secretary for Technical Co-operation what progress has been made in the discussions with the Government of Ghana regarding the new tax relating to Ghana pensioners.
§ Mr. R. CarrDiscussions with the Ghana Government proceed as quickly as possible. I would prefer not to comment further till they are complete. I would only add now that there is a Double Taxation Agreement with Ghana and I am sure that applications for provisional relief from pensioners who pay both United Kingdom and 35W Ghana tax on their pensions will be sympathetically considered by the Inland Revenue authorities.
