§ Mr. McLeavyasked the Minister of Transport if he will order a study to be made of the green wave traffic control system operating in Cologne, with a view to introducing a similar system in London, to ease the London traffic problem.
§ Mr. MarplesI have studied the Cologne system. Systems employing the "green wave" system in a more flexible way have been in operation on many routes in London for some years, and further systems will be introduced as necessary. As I have already announced, I am planning to try out even more sophisticated methods using computer control over the whole of an area of West London.
