§ Dr. A. Thompsonasked the Lord President of the Council and Minister for Science (1) whether he will take steps to ensure that the future governing authorities of Scottish universities each contain a person nominated by the Secretary of State for Scotland from the ranks of qualified schoolteachers;
(2) whether he will take steps to ensure that, under the enacting of any constitutions for university organisation to follow the repeal of existing university legislation, improved representation on governing bodies and committees will be given to teaching staff of non-professorial status.
